Our Baby Room
Our little ones are cared for in a brand new baby room, which is rich in natural light as well as being cosy and warm. Our babies benefit from a calming environment, full of resources which feed their curious young minds as well as practitioners who are highly qualified and experienced to tend to their needs. There is a sensory area to encourage exploration, a “cosy corner” for relaxing or looking at books, and space for our babies to explore and play with various resources. We recognize leaving your baby for the first time can be daunting so we ensure our baby room staff are not only well qualified but passionate and experienced in caring specifically for under 2’s.
There is a Nappy Change area, where babies are changed and nappies and wipes are stored, clearly named. Cots are also provided for your baby to sleep and we provide each baby with their own set of bedding. We request no shoes in the baby room as the must be kept clean and hygienic for our babies to crawl on. Food can be provided by parents, or we can appropriately blend the meals on our own menu. We will ensure all parents fill in a routine sheet so babies routines can be kept to as similar as possible at home. Our babies take part in a range of activities to promote their development including sensory sessions, messy play, creative activities, outdoor time, Makaton and Rhyme time and lots more.
Our Toddler Room
Our Toddler Room offers a more stimulating and structured environment with more defined areas for the children to play in, such as sand and water, construction, home corner and story corner. Toddlers are naturally curious and inquisitive and our Toddler room provides opportunities for children to learn and develop in all areas of the curriculum. Practitioners recognize that around the age of 2, children become more independent and therefore are supported to overcome new challenges such as potty training and aspects of self care. On a typical day in nursery, you can hear our Toddlers singing, watch them dancing or painting, see them explore the outdoors and lots more!
Children move from the Baby Room to the Toddler Room around the age of 2. The transition process is gradual, and children and parents have opportunities to be introduced to the room and new staff. In our Toddler room there is a strong focus on developing language and communication skills, as well as social and physical aspects. We encourage a little more independence so as well as a nappy change area, the children also have access to child size toilets and low level sinks if they are toilet training. We recognize our Toddler are still very young and their active minds need to rest and so there is always a quiet relaxation area within the room for them to sleep or have a little rest if they wish.

Our Pre-School
Throughout your child’s time in pre school, practitioners will support and enhance children’s learning and development as well as preparing them for Reception in a range of ways, including promoting children’s self confidence, communication and listening skills, managing their personal care, helping them to make healthy choices at mealtimes and teaching them to be caring and helpful citizens. In addition, children in Pre School are prepared for school life with the introduction of phonics, home link reading book and an optional school uniform.
Pre-School Activities
Pre School is a very important stage in a child’s early education as it is prepares them for the next stage of their learning in Primary School. The Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) is the framework which guides the care and education for children from the age of 0 to the end of their 5th year. It is followed throughout nursery and will continue throughout Pre School to the end of your child’s reception year in main stream school.
Activities in Pre School are varied. On a day to day basis these activities include baking, arts and crafts, story and circle times, music and rhythm time, PE including dance, football and yoga , messy and sensory play, as well as outdoor time. In Spring the children often plant seeds, and are involved in caring for and observing the seeds turn into flowers, fruit or vegetables which we are sometimes able to taste. We have also made soups and smoothies with the children to have at snack time. On a cold Winter’s day, children may play outside in the snow then come inside to investigate how ice melts, and which kinds of animals and wildlife can be found in winter. The children follow various topics according to their interests and celebrate a variety of special days and festivals including Chinese New Year, Easter, Bonfire Night and Christmas. Whatever the time of year, there is always something fun and exciting being celebrated or investigated in our Pre School!
Our Garden
At our Day Nursery, we are passionate about children experiencing the outdoors. We have several outside areas within the nursery grounds which means that your child will have access to a range of activities which promote learning and development. We strongly believe that children should be able to play outside every day and we offer areas for each age group.
The children grow plants, have a fairy garden and natural investigation areas where they can find mini beasts and dig for worms. The children are able to access lots of different PE equipment such as balls, hoops, parachutes and bikes, there is always something to explore.
Our garden is a place where all are children can explore, climb and play with a range of activities every day in a safe, enclosed space. We supply wet suits for our youngest children when the weather is damp, but ask that you supply us with a pair of wellies so that children can enjoy the outside all year long.
Our older children our large garden area daily. They have a growing area, play house, mud kitchen along with lots of open space to run, skip, jump and cycle.
