At QCE we know that Babies are Brilliant! They develop at an incredible rate, they absorb what they can see, hear, taste and touch. Their brains are growing fast too.
Our Baby Rooms need to provide a very special and nurturing environment with comfort and security as well as opportunities to play and discover every day.
Our Teams need to understand the very specific requirements for babies. The heightened risks, the needs that vary from those of toddlers, for example, the ways we can enhance a baby’s learning, and how to apply our Kindness Code and Pedagogy to these very special little humans.
Babies Learn With Their Senses
Babies can learn plenty while at nursery, and they learn fast. In the earliest years, the neurons in the brain make rapid connections that have the potential to shape the rest of their futures. Babies learn through using all of their senses and should be provided with opportunities to develop and explore these. A wide range of music opportunities every day, and Yoga introduced right from the start all help to encourage the very young to listen, look, and feel.
We Promote Safe Sleeping
We follow the expert advice of the Lullaby Trust, to ensure every baby at a QCE nursery sleeps safely, and feels nurtured and secure when they are with us.
Brain Power
Children’s brains grow most rapidly in the first three years of life. Early experiences shape the brain’s development, influencing a child’s future learning and health outcomes.
Special Places
Our Baby Rooms look quite different from the spaces used by the older children. Babies need familiarity, comfort and secure attachments, so our rooms are all about cosy, but babies also need opportunities to explore and investigate so we have very carefully selected the toys and opportunities for play in the room.
Our Pedagogy
Our very own Curious and Cosy Pedagogy is a wonderful fit for babies! We encourage babies to explore our spaces independently, always supported by the team. We provide a wide range of exciting things for a very young child to investigate, and introduce plenty of natural resources such as wood, metal, and wool. We are so proud of our pedagogy that is unique to us, and would love to tell you all about it when you visit.
Training
Our Baby Room team are all offered extra training at QCE so we can be sure they know what babies need, and how to offer babies the very best of starts. We are very attuned to parents’ needs and wishes regarding feeding, weaning, sleep and settling in, and we will always take time to listen and communicate so that parents are reassured.
Funding
Since the extended funding was announced, we have of course had an increase in enquiries for places. If you would like to meet our team and consider one of our nurseries, we would encourage you to contact us very soon!
