A Day at Nordic Star: outdoor play, community learning and family support

More than a nursery, a community

A child’s day at Nordic Star extends beyond our beautifully designed indoor spaces. We believe that learning flourishes in real environments, rich with sensory experiences and community connections. From daily outdoor play to visits around the neighbourhood, exploration is part of our rhythm.

Daily outdoor adventures

Each day we take advantage of the parks, canals, playgrounds and local spaces that surround our Islington setting. These routine outings encourage children to connect with nature, navigate different environments and learn through movement and observation. Whether climbing, balancing, or simply watching the seasons change, outdoor play supports physical health and expands children’s curiosity about the world.

Community connections that inspire

Learning does not stop at the nursery gate. We regularly explore local libraries, markets, local landmarks and community services so children see and appreciate the wider world they belong to. These experiences foster a sense of belonging, build confidence and support early social development.

Family‑centered services you can count on

We know raising young children is a family journey and strong partnerships matter. Nordic Star is open 51 weeks of the year with extended hours to support modern family life. Our parents’ lounge and coffee bar provide space for connection alongside private consultation rooms for thoughtful discussions about your child’s progress. This supportive environment extends home and nursery learning into a confident and cohesive experience for families.

Nutrition by design

We believe good food is essential to well‑being and learning. That is why our chef prepares fresh, seasonal meals daily on site with menus thoughtfully designed by a registered nutritionist. Balanced meals, snacks and tailorable weaning options ensure children receive the nourishment they need to grow strong and stay energised for play, learning and exploration.

At Nordic Star Nursery, we cherish every opportunity to bring learning to life. From the classroom to the community and from early morning welcoming smiles to afternoon goodbyes, our focus on joyful discovery, connection and support is always front and centre.
