Settling in sessions
We are pleased to be able to offer parents a resource library which covers a wide variety of books that you and your children can enjoy at home.
If your child is starting out at our nursery or making a transition throughout the rooms in our nursery, we will arrange settling in sessions for you and your child.
These sessions are free of charge and will consist of several short visits into their designated room. This is time for you to meet our staff and the other children and for your child to get used to their new surroundings and meet their new friends. We suggest that your child has around three visits just to make the transition for you and your child as comfortable as possible learn and development.
Supporting the individual child
We are passionate that all our children get the support they need to develop and thrive in our setting. As a highly specialised team we can support children with a multitude of additional health and learning needs. We work closely with the Local Authority, the NHS and other agencies to provide as much support as possible to children and their families.
Supporting Your Child’s Learning with the Development Matters Framework
At Kinder Giggles, we follow the Development Matters framework, which guides early years learning and development from birth to five years old. This framework helps us create engaging, age-appropriate activities that support children in key areas such as communication, physical development, and personal, social, and emotional growth.

Parent Observation Form
We invite you to contribute to your childs online Learning Journey via Famly – our online learning journal. If you would prefer to print and complete a paper copy of an observation of your child’s learning, please use the form below.
Parents evening
We hold parents evenings on a bi-annual basis which are generally held in the evening although times can be flexible to suit the family. Appointment times are booked prior to the evening with your Key Person. On the evening itself you will meet with your Key Person to discuss your child’s development progress over the past terms, and then also what we will be setting out to achieve over the coming months. You will have the opportunity to look through your child’s development records which include all of your child’s observations, photographs and art work.
Our Lending Library
We are pleased to be able to offer parents a resource library which covers a wide variety of books that you and your children can enjoy at home. The lending library will be located in the reception area, please just sign out the book(s) you would like to borrow and sign them back in on return!
Stay & Play Sessions
At Kinder Giggles our Stay & Play sessions are a wonderful way for parents to engage in their child's nursery experience. Held once a month or every two months, these interactive sessions invite parents to join their little ones in themed activities, such as crafting Valentine’s Day cards or decorating biscuits. Lasting one to two hours, Stay & Play offers a special opportunity to connect with your child, see their learning in action, and be part of our warm nursery community.
