Experiences That Make Learning Come Alive
Our children regularly enjoy visits to Stone Library where stories, songs and books inspire imagination and help build early literacy skills. Park walks give children the freedom to explore nature safely, practise physical skills and enjoy the simple pleasure of being outdoors.
We also take part in much loved community events such as Advent Windows and Remembrance Day. These experiences help children feel involved, valued and connected to the wider world.
Intergenerational Connections That Warm the Heart
One of the most special parts of our community involvement is our relationship with St. Mary’s. Our intergenerational sessions bring children and older adults together to share stories, songs and gentle activities. These moments create friendships that bring joy to both generations and support children’s social and emotional development in a truly unique way.
Celebrating Diversity Every Day
Our team includes practitioners from Italy, Portugal and South Asia, each bringing wonderful cultural traditions, language and experiences to share. Children learn about celebrations from around the world in a natural and joyful way, helping them grow up with an open minded and inclusive outlook.

Because Elmhurst House is so closely linked with local primary schools, we work in partnership with them to help children feel ready for their next big step. Our gentle approach to school readiness builds confidence and independence without rushing or overwhelming children.
