Welcome to Childminder Hub where you will find useful resources and helpful guides.
I was a registered childminder for over 18 years, graded Outstanding twice on two consecutive Ofsted inspections before resigning my registration to pursue my consultancy role delivering training and providing consultancy to the early years sector. Whether you are thinking about becoming a childminder, looking for EYFS training, wanting help with your registration visit, preparing for your inspection or you’re an experienced childminder looking for CPD this page is dedicated to you!
You can find out more about registering as a childminder and exemptions here
If you’re considering becoming a registered childminder you can access a pre-briefing from Ofsted including the updated information about the flexibilities announced by the Department foe Education (DfE)
There is currently a £600 grant available to help you register with Ofsted and £1200 if you choose to register with a childminder agency. Find out more here
The Statutory framework for the early years foundation stage (EYFS) sets the standards for learning, development and care which must be followed by all registered childminders, pre-schools and nurseries in England.
Here’s a link to the specific version of the EYFS with childminder relevant information effective from 4th January 2024.
Changes from January 2024 also include removing the requirement for childminders to undertake pre-registration training. This said, you will still be assessed by Ofsted or a Childminder Agency on your knowledge of the safeguarding and welfare and learning and development requirements of the EYFS. Please contact me if you are interested in accredited or non-accredited training to help you register as a childminder.
Sue and Hazel are excited to offer you accredited training to help you register, set up and run your home-based childcare setting for just £255.00 – ****special offer**** 10% discount if you register and pay before 31st March 2024 – £229.50 – you can register your interest here
You will find full details of my webinars here but here are some courses that are specifically aimed at supporting you to register with Ofsted as a childminder and to help you prepare for your inspection.
I am an Early Language Lead Practitioner within the Every Child A Talker program with experience in supporting children within Special Educational Needs.
