Safe and Stimulating Spaces for Every Child
Creating a Home Away From Home for Your Child
Our rooms are carefully designed to provide a secure, nurturing, and engaging environment tailored to your child’s needs.
Babies
- Caring for our youngest children, our two baby rooms provide a calm, cosy and caring place to grow.
In our baby rooms, we work closely with you as your child settles into the room. We will follow your home routine, to provide consistency for your child with feeding and sleeping and our team will build a close relationship with you so that you will.
We have two baby rooms, one of which is designed to provide a peaceful and cosy atmosphere for younger children as they start to grow.
Meal times are an opportunity for social development and children sit at the small table to eat, with chairs and low highchairs available as appropriate.
We will always follow your child's ever-changing feeding routine at home and will fully cooperate with the weaning process. We provide cow's milk formula and parents are welcome to provide breast milk. Our nursery cook produces delicious, freshly prepared meals on site for older babies.
Sleeping:
We have a dedicated sleeping area with cots, which provides a quiet and relaxing place for our babies to sleep during the day. Working with you, we will follow your child's sleeping routine at home to ensure consistency.
You child is allocated their own linen, which is provided by the nursery and you are welcome to provide your child's own comforter if needed.
Your child will benefit from two rooms designed to help their development as they grow.
Younger babies are able to enjoy a quiet and cosy room with toys, displays and activities to stimulate them and encourage their curiosity. Older babies can enjoy free play, promoting their social skills and satisyfying their inquisitive minds.
Each day, activities are planned based around your child's needs. Your child's key person will track their progress and design activities to support their growth.
We follow the Development Matters in the Early Years Foundation Stage, which helps to stimulate and promote all areas of development through exploration and experimentation.
Both of our baby rooms have direct access to their own outdoor areas, allowing your child to enjoy both indoor and outdoor play. These self-contained spaces are designed with this age group in mind.
In both rooms, the outdoor area includes a covered deck which allows your child to enjoy outdoor play whatever the weather.
Caring for your child and supporting them as they grow, we have a committed team of nursery nurses specifically trained to care for this age group.
Our staff are based in the room permanently to provide your child with consistency and continuity. This includes your child's key person, who will know their individual needs and support them as they grow.
Toddlers
- Our Badgers Room supports your toddler as they start developing their independence and confidence.
As your toddler grows, the Badgers Room supports your child at a vital stage of their development, offering a wide range of play and learning opportunities.
Each day, we will let you know whether your child has slept and what they have eaten. We inform you in real time on our secure Famly app, which we also use to provide you with pictures and updates on your child's day.
Mealtimes are social occasions and your child will sit at the table with their friends. Meals are freshly prepared each day by our cook, designed with health in mind and using fresh ingredients.
Your child will have access to water or milk and will choose when they would like to eat a healthy snack.
Sleeping:
Those children who need to sleep will use our sleep room, a separate space to ensure a restful sleep away from children who are still in active play.
All children have individual sleep mats with their own personal bed linen, all provided by the nursery. You are welcome to provide your child's comforter from home if needed.
At this age, your child will begin to develop a growing sense of their independence. To encourage this, they will have free access to games and toys so that they can choose what they want to do.
As their independence grows, we will support them in making good decisions. For example, we will help them as they decide when they want a healthy snack during the day.
The Badgers Room has direct access to its own outdoor play area. Children have free-flow access outside, so they can choose where they would like to play.
The outdoor area also includes a covered deck, so that bad weather never interrupts play.
Each month, your child will also spend a week in our Forest School where they will take part in hands-on experiences to develop their confidence and independence.
Your child will learn through play, with activities organised based on their individual development and how they are progressing. Through group games and one-on-one exercises, they will begin to learn essentials such as colours, shapes and counting.
While your child will choose how they would like to play, our team will help to guide them towards planning games and activities designed to support their growth.
This is a key point in your child's emotional development and we support them as they start learning to manage their feelings and relationships with peers.
Every child will develop at a different rate, with their own strengths and weaknesses. Your child's key person will track their progress and work with you to develop next steps for their learning and development.
Pre-School
- We have two pre-school rooms, helping your child to learn, play and grow as they get ready for school.
In pre-school, we will continue to support your child’s development in an age-appropriate way and focusing on their individual progress. We will also continue to support your child as they become more independent and prepare them for the transition to school.
Our pre-school children go on to attend a number of local primary schools, so your child will already know some friendly faces when they start in Reception.
We believe that mealtimes and social occasions, so your child will sit at the table with their friends. This not only helps to develop their social and communication skills but also encourages them to try different foods with their peers.
We also use mealtimes to develop their child's independence and decision making. Supported by their key person, they will serve their own food and water at mealtime and will also choose when they want to have a healthy snack during play.
All our meals are prepared freshly on site by our nursery cook, using fresh and local ingredients. Meals are designed with nutrition and health in mind.
To get ready for school, life in preschool is slightly more structured than in the younger rooms although your child will still learn through play. We will support you and your child to gain the independence skills needed for school, like taking responsibility for their possessions.
The term before your child goes to school, we work closely with their Reception class. We run activities like role playing with school uniform to help school readiness and your child's teacher will be invited to visit.
Each of our pre-school rooms has direct access to its own dedicated outdoor area. Both spaces include a covered area, so that children can play in all weathers. During the day, we operate free-flow so that your child can choose whether they want to play inside or outside.
Each month they will also visit our Forest School, where they will engage in hands on activities like den-making to build their independence and confidence.
To support their independence, your child will enjoy free flow play and can access all toys and games, under the supervision of our staff.
Their key person will plan stimulating and fun activities based on their individual development needs.
Your child will go on frequent trips out of the nursery to learn more about their community and the world around them. This might be a nature walk, a trip to the greengrocers or a visit to the local library.
All trips are done with your consent and are fully supervised by our experienced team.
