The Hive - Our dedicated building for breakfast, after school and holiday clubs for children aged 4 to 12.
We provide stimulating, quality Ofsted registered childcare in a safe and vibrant setting, which includes an impressive outdoor area and an exciting range of activities to suit your child’s needs. The Hive children have their own dedicated building ran by Mollie Richardson and her team of Play Workers.
Welcome to The Hive. Myself and my team have created a home from home environment for the children to play and relax. During term time we offer a walking bus service to and from local schools. Once at The Hive we have a variety of activities and crafts, plus a large garden area to enjoy after school. We also offer a holiday club with activities such as baking, park trips and bus trips within the local area. The children are at the heart of The Hive and we provide a safe nurturing environment for children aged 4-12.

Breakfast & After School Club
During Breakfast Club, children can start the day having a nutritious breakfast and engaging in various activities with friends before the journey to school. Our friendly and nurturing staff ensure that all children’s needs are recognised and that their transition from The Hive to school is as smooth as possible each day.
The After School club at The Hive is delivered by our team of Playworkers who plan a range of fun activities and opportunities for your child to unwind after a long day at school. The cosy snug areas and our homely kitchen make it a home from home experience and our large garden is a warm welcome for those still with plenty of energy. Some of the activities the children have access to are: board games, art and crafts, outside sports, role play, Wii games, and much more.
We currently offer a walking bus service to Southend Infants and Juniors and Whitefriars Infants and Juniors.
Holiday Club
Get ready for an action-packed adventure at The Hive. Our Ofsted registered Holiday Club is run by an experienced and welcoming team.
With extensive outdoor space and a diverse range of exciting activities, we create memorable experiences and opportunities for children to try new things, make friends and have fun.
Our dedicated team of Playworkers consult with the children to plan a varied and dynamic programme of indoor and outdoor activities to suit all interests and ages that you won’t find anywhere else.
We often run trips on our minibus to local amenities such as roller skating, cinema, canoeing, local parks and swimming.
10% early bird discount if you book a week or more in advance
Flexible hours to suit your needs – 7.30am-6pm, Monday-Friday

Meals & snacks
The price includes snacks and tea. At The Hive we offer a range of breakfast choices to ensure the children have a good, healthy start to their day. We also provide a freshly prepared tea to the out of school children every evening on their return from school. During the school holidays, children can bring their own packed lunches or we can provide a cooked dinner with pudding at a small extra cost.
