3-4 Year Old Funding - Eligibility
All parents are entitled to 15 hours funded childcare from the school term after their child turns three so by way of example if your child was born on the 16th December you are entitled to a funded place from the start of January.
Additionally, working parents may be entitled to 30 hours a week. To be eligible each parent must
- earn at least £120 per week
- not earn more than £100,000 per year.
You could still be eligible though if a parent is on maternity, paternity or adoption leave or if a parent is unable to work due to disability or caring responsibilities. Single parents can also apply.
In the same way we allow two year old funders to stretch their funding so it is all year round, a parent in receipt of 15 or 30 hours funding can also use less hours per week to enable to receive all year round care. We offer a number of options in this regard.
Please note that funded childcare does not cover costs such as meals and specialist tuition e.g. Samba Tots so we do make a small daily charge to cover these costs for funded hours.
YOU HAVE TO APPLY!
If you are looking to claim 30 hours you do need a 30 hour code and you must apply for this code through the Childcare Choices Website before the end of the previous term so if you are looking to start claiming your 30 hours from September you will need to apply before the 31st August.
You have also have to reconfirm your eligibility every three months otherwise you may lose your funding.
