Children are encouraged to learn with enjoyment and challenge through the provision of well-planned play experiences. When your child starts at High Hopes Day Nursery School, a Base Line assessment will be carried out within the first 6 weeks of their attendance. This provides your child’s key person with a starting point on which to base your child’s future learning.

At High Hopes Day Nursery School each child will have an individual online learning journey. The staff team will record and monitor your child’s development and progress in each of the areas. You will be able to access this through an online learning journal. We hope that during your time with us you will also contribute to your child’s learning journey. You will also be provided with a formal written report annually on your child’s progress. A copy of the EYFS can be downloaded from www.gov.uk
Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS)
At High Hopes Day Nursery School, we follow the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS), a government framework for learning, development and care of children from birth to five. Its purpose is to provide all children with the best possible learning opportunities and experiences to help each child reach their full potential. This will ensure your child is ready for school when they leave High Hopes Day Nursery School. The EYFS is grouped into three prime areas and four specific areas of learning, as follows:
Literacy
Mathematics
Understanding the World
Expressive Arts and Design

The nursery offers a large outdoor play area which has an all-weather play surface, so children can play outside throughout the year.
Children are provided with high quality learning opportunities to enable them to grow and develop their abilities and interests.
Healthy meals and snacks are prepared onsite by the nursery’s cook and the varied menu can be altered for all dietary requirements.
At High Hopes Day Nursery School each child will have an individual online learning journey.
Continuity of care is ensured at the nursery thanks to its fully-qualified and well trained staff members.
The settings have great relationships with the local schools and community, ensuring there’s a smooth transition into school.
