Settling In
We provide a gentle, supportive settling-in process to help each child transition into nursery life with confidence.
Starting nursery is an important milestone for both children and parents. We recognise that each child adapts at their own pace, and we take great care to ensure that the transition into nursery life is gentle and positive.
Before your child begins attending, we will arrange a settling-in process that allows them to gradually become familiar with their new environment, educators and daily routine.
Our educators provide warmth, reassurance and patience during this time, helping children build trust and confidence within their new surroundings.
Sessions & Opening Hours
We operate Monday to Friday from 7:00am to 6:00pm, 51 weeks of the year.
We offer a range of session options to support the needs of families, including full-day and shorter sessions where available.
Our Montessori school day provides a calm and purposeful learning period where children are able to engage deeply with Montessori activities and experiences.
Clothing & Personal Items
Children are encouraged to move freely and engage in practical activities throughout the day.
For this reason, we recommend comfortable clothing that allows children to explore, play and participate fully in nursery activities.
Parents should provide:
- spare clothing
- weather-appropriate outdoor clothing
- nappies if required
- formula milk if required
Childcare funding
Childcare fees & funding
Flourish Montessori Day Nursery accepts government funded childcare for eligible children, including the 15 and 30 hour funding schemes.
Funded hours are typically delivered during our Montessori school day, with additional sessions available depending on availability.
Our team will happily discuss the options available to you and guide you through the funding process.
Meals and Nutrition
Our Nutritious Menu's
Children are provided with nutritious meals and snacks throughout the day to support healthy growth and development.
We encourage children to develop independence during mealtimes, allowing them to serve themselves where appropriate and enjoy food in a relaxed and social environment.
Meals are carefully planned to ensure they are balanced, nourishing and enjoyable for children.
Parents are asked to provide nappies, formula milk (if required) and any specialist dietary items needed for their child.

Nido - Baby
The Nido provides a peaceful and nurturing environment for our youngest children.
Soft lighting, natural materials and carefully designed spaces support babies as they begin to explore movement, language and sensory experiences.
Educators provide gentle guidance while building secure and loving relationships with each child.
Saplings - Toddler
Toddlers are naturally driven to explore and become independent.
In the Saplings environment, children engage in practical life activities such as pouring, preparing food, washing and caring for their surroundings.
These purposeful tasks build coordination, independence and confidence.
Acorns- Preschool
In the Acorns environment, children deepen their concentration and curiosity.
Using Montessori materials, they explore early mathematics, language, culture and science through hands-on learning experiences.
Children develop strong foundations that support their transition to school with confidence.

We use the Ovivio Parent App to keep parents closely connected to their child’s day at Flourish Montessori Day Nursery. Through the app, parents receive regular updates, photos, and observations, as well as important messages and announcements from the nursery. Ovivio also allows us to share your child’s learning journey and development progress, helping to strengthen our partnership with families and ensuring you feel informed, involved, and reassured at all times.
