We use famly as an online platform to keep records and also communicate with parents.
The new EYFS takes the focus of recording observations but we still like to share our best bits. By taking the pressure off practitioners to share photos, it gives them more time to interact with the children and really get to know them and find teachable moments.
Parents Evenings
We will communicate with parents through famly. We will aim to welcome parents in for a chat with the child’s key worker around October Half Term, and then touch base with a telephone call home around Easter. We are more than happy to arrange meetings if you would like to speak to us. Please email us or message on famly and we can arrange a mutually convenient time.

We will share assessments on famly and talk to you if we have any concerns, but the assessments may be more simple than you were previously used to under the old framework.

We Welcome Our New Manager, Katie
We are delighted to introduce our new Manager, Katie Williams. Katie has over 10 years childcare experience and holds a level 3 NVQ in Childcare.

Karen is Retiring
Karen is retiring On 21 July we say goodbye to our Manager, Karen. Karen has been a part of this nursery for 17 years and has been a loyal member of the team.

Fees
If you need to to pay for your childcare, or require additional hours, our fee structure is below.
Morning session
3 hour morning session – £19
Morning session includes lunch at 11:30. The funding does not cover food, so we ask for an optional payment to cover lunches.
Afternoon session
3 hour afternoon session – £19
Breakfast club
7.30am – from £6.75
7.45am – from £5.25
Afterschool Club – from £12.60
Ad-hoc sessions are charged slightly higher.
Holiday Club
24th November 2023 – Inset Day
9am – 3pm £19.75
8am – 6pm £30
All food included with lots of crafts and fun with friends. Children aged 2-11 welcome from all local schools.
Mealtimes
An optional hot school dinner is provided by Chapelford Village Primary School at a cost of £2.40 per meal.
Routine
We use group time with key people to get the children used to small inputs. Our routine includes short inputs for literacy, phonics and mathematics. We make sure there are big chunks of free play between this small group time where the children can play and learn. Learning to sit and pay attention for a few minutes is an important stepping stone to starting school, but we are true play champions and know that’s how children learn best. Our indoor and outdoor environments are set up to ensure that all areas of learning are covered during play, and we can practice what we learn in our group time whilst we play. It is important that you are on time for nursery so your child dorsn’t miss out on important parts of the day.
Welcomm Screening
We screen all children for speech and communication during their first six weeks in nursery. This gives us a good understanding of where your child is at, and helps us plan activities to help support their development. We will revisit this screening tool to check that your child is making progress, and if we feel they do need support will engage our senco to help with plans and referral to outside agencies if appropriate.
