A nursery designed from the ground up for children
At Alpha Kindergarten Stanground, we are proud to be Peterborough’s newest purpose built nursery, opened in 2022. We were created specifically to serve families in Stanground and Cardea, an area where high quality childcare places were previously limited.
From the very beginning, our design has focused on what children need to feel safe, confident and ready to explore. Every decision made during the build was centred around creating a space where children can flourish in a calm and inspiring environment.
A unique courtyard at the heart of our setting
One of the most special features of our nursery is our central courtyard play area. This secure outdoor space sits at the heart of our building, allowing children to enjoy fresh air and play in a calm, enclosed environment throughout the day.
It gives children the freedom to move, explore and discover, while remaining safely connected to the nursery at all times. The layout also allows outdoor learning to become part of everyday routine, helping children build confidence outdoors in all seasons.
A calm, natural environment for early learning
We have designed our nursery using natural materials to create a warm and calming atmosphere. This helps children feel settled and comfortable as soon as they arrive.
Every space has been carefully considered to support curiosity, independence and early development in a setting that feels welcoming and homely. Soft tones and natural textures help reduce overstimulation and encourage focused, meaningful play.

We know how important convenience is for families. That is why we are pleased to offer the largest car park of any nursery in Peterborough, making drop offs and pick ups smoother and less stressful for parents and carers.
