We have had a crop of birthdays and the children had been very interested in making cakes and candles in the sand, so we have been looking at parties this week. We discussed the different occasions that might be celebrated with a party and what different sorts of parties we had all been to. We had a party in the role play area and had dancing and games in the garden. We made invitations and cards. We counted balloons and candles and grouped ourselves by age. We also made a balance cake and sequenced the steps in order.
