We have been established for over 20 years, family owned with 7 settings across Edinburgh and West Lothian and employing over 50 staff, caring, and supporting learning through play for children ages 0 -12 years. We have strong family values, for our staff, children, and families, and strive to have an inclusive home from home environment using natural resources, soft lighting, and furniture that children have at home.

  • Work – Full Time (support balanced work/home life part time may be considered)
  • Hours – 37.5 hours / Monday to Friday between the hours of 7.30am-6.00pm.

Expectations –

  • Be self-motivated and have strong ‘can do approach’ ensuring delivery of high-quality care

Successful candidates will be subject to positive references, PVG update and required registration with the SSSC.

Successful candidate will

· Hold an HNC/SVQ 3 in Childcare & Education or equivalent and willing to undertake further training.

· Have a strong knowledge of GIRFEC, Realising the Ambition, Curriculum for Excellence, My World Outdoors amongst other local and national guidance

· Have the ability to support and develop enabling environments that are child led using indoors, outdoors, and beyond.

· Self-motivate and be a strong outward thinking person to lead and support their team

· Be an effective communicator with excellent customer service

· Be a positive role model to other staff members ensuring delivery of high-quality practice with a passion to meeting the individual needs of all children including those who require additional support for learning

· Keep up to date with latest practice

· Be able to display high quality practice and monitor the delivery of rich learning opportunities and exceptional care that helps all children to develop and meets their individual needs.

· be reliable, honest, and have good sense of humour along with a love for charity shops.

A knowledge of Outdoor Education /Forest School would be advantageous- however a passion for working in the outdoors and a willingness to learn is essential.

The position is subject to an updated PVG membership and registration with the SSSC.

Salary from £11.50 to £13 per hour
